The Lord’s Charge to Joshua is Direction For Us…
Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. 8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. 9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:7-9

Commitment and Love for God …
Love requires commitment in order to succeed. When we commit ourselves to follow Jesus we gain the wisdom and knowledge of the Characteristics of our Lord. We love, because He first loved us. When we look at attributes of love and how much the Lord truly loves us, there is a commitment to be obedient. The only way to discover this is through reading the scriptures.

Power of God’s Word At Work

The Word Redeems- Lamentations 3:58 O Lord, you took up my case; you redeemed my life.
The Word Heals- Psalm 107:20 He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.
The Word Restores-Psalm 23:3 ...he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
The Word Discerns-Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and ...is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The Word Combats the evil one-1 Peter 5:9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
The Word Comforts- Isaiah 49:13 Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.
The Word Reveals-Habakkuk 2:3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay
