Pray Contiunally...

God’s Word – Pray continually … 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Encouragement Shared:

The word pray is mentioned in the bible 117 times. Jesus shows us how to pray in the Model Prayer in the book of Matthew 6:5-17. Praying is not only a matter of sacrifice it is a command of God. It is by faith we communicate to God through prayer and in intersession on behalf of ourselves and others. We must be devoted to do this daily…When Paul writes in his final instructions to the Thessalonians pray continually, it’s not about spending all day in prayer and nothing else… It’s about being aware as you go through your daily life to be in attitude of prayer. It is more about being equipped, paying attention in order – to be used, in order to be ready for those divine opportunities divinely appointed by God.

Be Devoted To Prayer:

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Colossians 4:2 –Be devoted to prayer, believing for God to move mightily in your circumstance. Have the faith through the promise of God’s word to believe and to be sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. The truth is it takes great faith to pour out our petitions in prayer and to leave it there on the foot of cross casting all anxieties on Him who cares for you.

Prayer:Heavenly Father,We praise your heavenly name! Your ways are faithful and true. You command the sun where to rise; you command the sun where to set. We ask for your forgiveness of our transgressions and sins. We will follow your command to forgive others as you have forgiven us. Increase our faith through power of your word, through the power of the Holy Spirit and through the living Christ in us. Help us to be more devoted in our prayers being watchful and thankful. Help us to recognize that without faith it is impossible to please you so that we may live by faith and not by sight. Thank you for your mercies that fail not… Great is your faithfulness. Thank you for the word that came to life that is Jesus Christ. In Jesus name we pray…Amen!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,Love in Christ,Jennifer Pettiford
