Reflections for Good Friday...

HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY!

God’s Love“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Encouragement Shared:Holy Week is the most precious time in all the year…It is a time of reverence and awe in the awesome Glory of Christ!God’s Perfect Plan:I came that they may have life and may have it abundantly. John 10:10The bible says that the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17

John Announces The Way – Christ
He is described by John the Baptist as the Lamb of God, Look, The Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29 There is no love that could compare than that of our heavenly Father has for us!

The Living Word – Jesus Christ: Therefore Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. ”I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. ”I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me? just as the Father knows me and I know the Father?and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life?only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”John 10:7-18
Choose to Receive – The bible states: Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God– To see this love, to be part of this family of believers is just to look to cross.I encourage you, that as you reflect on this Good Friday look to the cross and God’s Word and see it is through Jesus’ death on the cross we have been redeemed, forgiven accepted and loved. All that is required for us to do is trust, commit, delight and be still before the great “I AM.” He gave you the most wonderful gift Jesus Christ… Happy Resurrection Day! Mercy, Peace and Love be yours in abundance…
Love in Christ,Jennifer Pettiford
Recognize the Need of Christ-No one is righteous, no not one- we are made righteous through Christ – [Romans 3] His death burial and resurrection. We need to recognize our sin, ask for forgiveness and receive Jesus into our life; heart, mind and spirit…If you have not prayed the prayer to accept Christ as your personal Savior just repeat the following prayer: You can receive Christ right now, God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as he is with the attitude of your heart.
Prayer: Lord Jesus,I open up my heart…I invite you inside…To be my God…To be my Savior…Forgive me of my sins, wash me clean, and make me new…Thank you for dying on the cross for me and giving me eternal life.Make me all that you want me to be.In your precious name I pray AMEN!
