Preparing For Moving Day...

LOVEEXCELLENTLY Preparing For Moving Day…God’s Word – Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Psalm 25:4-5
Encouragement Shared-Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11: 29-30 This is all that I hear the Holy Spirit saying to me… as I prepare to move for the 10th time in a decade. Moving is rated high on the list for reasons that cause stress. Stress can cause us to be depressed because we become self-reliant and overwhelmed.
Making Way For The New:
There are a lot of new and exciting things that come from moving… purging the old and making way for the new. Making new friendships that will bring years of blessings… on the job or in the neighborhood. Finding your favorite spot to eat or that place to shop for the groceries… It’s a season of change and new things that God is calling us to. I must confess I can be a creature of habit. I go down the same road to work, I do the same things during the week, I am a stickler about time, so I am constantly planning ahead. A new season is ahead and it’s time to purge some old things and look forward to the new. To trust in Him and not lean on my own understanding [Proverbs 3:5-6] it’s time to commit all my plans to the Lord and his promise is; that they will succeed. [Proverbs 16:3] His word says, cast your anxieties on HIM because he cares for us. [1 Peter 5:7] As we move once again our tenth time in less than a decade, we will keep our eyes on the prize- Jesus! The author and the perfecter of our faith… Looking forward to the new plans God has in store for us. My prayer is the same for you beloveded in Christ that however God is moving you that you would find strength in Him through Christ!

Prayer for Guidance – Psalm 25
Heavenly Father,
We thank you Father for the victories you bring through your mighty hand and awesome presence. If we were to count the wondrous works of you hands they would out number the stars in the universe… To you, O LORD, we lift up our soul; in you your daughters trust, our God. Do not let us be put to shame, nor let our enemies triumph over us. No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.Show us your ways, O LORD, teach us your paths;guide us in your truth and teach us, for you are God our Savior, and our hope is in you all day long. Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Remember not the sins of our youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember us, for you are good, O LORD. Good and upright you are LORD; therefore you instruct sinners in their ways. You guide the humble in what is right and teaches them your way. All the your ways LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of your covenant. For the sake of your name, O LORD, forgive our iniquity, though it is great. Who, then, is the man or woman that fears the LORD ? You will instruct them in the way chosen for them. We will spend our days in prosperity, and our descendants will inherit the land. You LORD confide in those who fear you; you make your covenant known to us. Our eyes are ever on you LORD, and on Christ! for only you will release our feet from the snare. Turn to us and be gracious to your daughters, for we are lonely and afflicted in our distress. The troubles of my heart have multiplied; free us from the anguish. Look upon our affliction and our distress and take away all of your daughters sins. See how our enemies have increased and how fiercely they hate us! Guard your daughter’s life and rescue her; let her not be put to shame, for we will take refuge in you. May integrity and uprightness protect us, because our hope is in you. Redeem Israel, O God, from all their troubles! In Jesus name we pray …Amen!
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
Love in Christ,
Jennifer Pettiford ~
