Jesus ~ The Reason for the Season... What is Christmas?
God’s Word
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Encouragement Shared:
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks…Dressed in holiday style…In the air there’s a feeling of Christmas.
Thanksgiving has passed and along with giving thanks to the Lord for all the blessings and all of the turkey, and trimmings we look onto the feeling of Christmas.

What is the feeling of Christmas?
A time we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.
An opportunity to love one another deeply, especially those who do not know our awesome Lord and Savior in personal way. Typically what happens is we get caught up on the momentum of the holiday…
The cooking, the shopping, the gifts, the social visits and all the other trimmings that come with Christmas.
For some it is stress over the holiday, the gift giving, the loneliness, depression, the loss of a loved one, relocating, or being without the basic necessities…Etc, etc; These feelings are not typical of Christmas but for some it is.

Jesus Shares in Our Sorrows and Pain:
The Psalmist say; Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain Psalm 55:22 Another word for sustain is “Conserve , to Protect.” In other words keep us from harms way. Regardless of what the circumstance we must remember God is with us through the love of that tiny babe Jesus born over 2000 years ago. It is through Jesus’ life and death that he shares in our joys, peace and love. He shares in our sadness, weakness and trials. More importantly he shares in our sins, he took on death on the cross for each one of us through our many sins. He is there in the morning, afternoon and evening. He counsels us even while we sleep. ” I will praise the Lord who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me” Psalms 16:7 Jesus is our; Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jesus says, Do Not Worry:
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. Matthew 6:25-32 NIV~
