We Have Peace in Our Troubles...

God's Word
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

Encouragement Shared:

My desire is to show empathy for a sister in Christ in a crisis or hardship. To show empathy while maintaining my identify in Christ while sharing God’s word to lift one out of the pit and not get in the pit with them. If I get in the pit with a sister then we both become stuck. That is exactly what we used to do when we were separated from God. Listen to one down out, drink and get drunk, shop till we dropped, eat comfort foods and yet the remenant of our pain through distress was still there leaving us in a state of depression. The desire of our flesh is to sit in the pit of pity; the pit of defeat, and react from a point of emotion which is from the point weakness and not from a point of strength that is through the living word Christ. Going into the pit of disparity with one disables, distracts and creates dysfunction. Although the heart behind is well intention the truth is that kind of love to another paralyzes instead of equipping and strengthening through the power of God’s word for victory. My sisters, you have the gifts of God to move you forward and in those seasons of difficulty remember we are being refined through the fire as gold. The refining process - In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 1 Peter 1:6-8

Equipped to Move Mountains:
Our mind and attitude has everything to do how grounded we are in our faith and how we conduct ourself in the face of adversity...Cast all your anxieties on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
The LORD our God said to us ..., "You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Duet 1:6
The children of Israel stayed on the mountain for 40 years, we have been equipped to move out of mountain and into victory… We have been equipped through the comfort of Christ to give those who suffer the very same comfort – [2 Corinthians 1:1-3]

The Cheerful Heart Blocks The Joy Stealer:
The proverbs state; A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22; ...the cheerful heart has a continual feast. Proverbs 15:15b We all have all the tools to stand firm in the midst of our tribulations and he preserves our lives when we allow him to. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me. Psalm 138:7

Prayer:
Father, please help us to seek your teaching of your word as washing of the soul through the cleansing of your word. Show us your ways, Lord, teach us your paths, lead us in your truth and teach us for you are the God of our salvation, On you we will wait all the day long…In Christ name I pray…Amen!

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance,
Love in Christ,
Jennifer Pettiford
